Free Rewards Card
Casino Auckland Sign Up Process
Getting Started With The SHOW by SkyCity Card
SkyCity Entertainment has completed nationwide rollout of mandatory Carded Play system in all SkyCity New Zealand casinos. This means you’ll need a SHOW by SkyCity card or valid Premier Rewards card to play any casino games. To play at SkyCity Auckland, everything starts with the SHOW by SkyCity card. Without it, no slots and no tables. The card is your golden ticket - it tracks your gaming, manages breaks, and underpins our responsible gambling measures. Carded Play is mandatory across all SkyCity Casinos in NZ for host responsibility and preventing financial crime.
There’s a strict age rule: you must be 20 years or older. This is non-negotiable, even if you’re standing there with your mum or dad. We simply don’t register anyone who’s underage, and our system checks this right away during sign up. If you’re on our exclusion list, we can’t let you join, no exceptions. Different rules apply for casino gaming (R20) and for general SkyCity property (hotels/facilities).
You’ll need valid photo identification. We accept: current passport, New Zealand or Australian driver licence, NZ firearms licence, current overseas national identity card (with signature or biometric data), or a Kiwi Access Card or SuperGold Card with photo PLUS one additional government-issued document with your name and date of birth. The photo must be clear, unexpired, and your legal name must precisely match what you give us. Forget about bringing a photocopy - originals only. Digital IDs, photos, screenshots and expired documents cannot be accepted. All ID must be original physical documents.
Details matter. Bring your full legal name, phone number, email, and a residential address - PO boxes are not acceptable. SkyCity Auckland requires a residential address and valid photo ID to sign up. If anything doesn’t line up with your ID, we’ll have to hold up your sign up or even turn you away.
How To Register
We offer you two choices here. Register online at skycityauckland.co.nz to save time. Tap into the SHOW by SkyCity area and upload your clear ID photo (blurry uploads really stall things). Sign-up is quick and frictionless - online or onsite, at self-service kiosks or with dedicated SHOW by SkyCity team members and takes a few minutes. Registration may include additional identity verification steps. You must collect your printed SHOW by SkyCity card in person with original ID to complete sign up. When you sign up, you will be asked whether you’d like to opt-in to SHOW by SkyCity Rewards. Join the Rewards programme during the sign up process online or onsite. Visit Promotions page for current sign up offers.
Want a human touch? Just walk up to our sign up desks or self-service kiosks on the main floor. Our staff will sort you out face-to-face, answer questions, go through the forms. Some people just prefer that, especially if scanning and uploading ID isn’t for them.
If you go in-person:
- Step up to the sign-up desk or kiosk by the gaming area entrance
- Hand over your photo ID
- Confirm your details out loud
- We’ll check the info together on the screen
- You’ll sign our responsible gaming documents
- Your card prints on the spot
Whichever route, signing up to SHOW by SkyCity is free. R20+ to enter casino gaming areas. Your card remains valid while your account is active and you are not excluded. Lost your card? We’ll replace it at no charge with ID verification. For a quick start, always keep your current photo ID and up-to-date contact details with you to speed up the registration and card collection process.
SkyCare and Your Gaming Breaks
When you sign up, your SHOW card is instantly linked into SkyCare - our automatic break system. This monitors the hours you spend gaming and enforces cooling-off breaks using your card.
The system monitors your gaming duration and enforces mandatory breaks to support responsible play. The clock starts running the moment you scan your card in. When you’re nearing a break, it will appear on your machine screen. When it’s break time, your card won’t work for gaming, though you can still use it at restaurants or in your hotel room.
You cannot stay in gaming zones beyond the applicable play limit, and lingering in gaming areas does not avoid the rules.
If gambling’s ever feeling out of control, you (or a family member) can ask us to set a temporary or a permanent self-exclusion. Our Host Responsibility team helps on +64 9 363 6000. For confidential support any time, the 24/7 Gambling Helpline is available at 0800 654 655.

What the SHOW Card Gives You
SHOW by SkyCity is the mandatory Carded Play system rolled out nationwide. Valid Premier Rewards cards are accepted. Once you’re signed up, your card gives you access to gaming machines over several floors. Classic slots, multi-screen video slots, electronic table games, and progressive machines are all activated with this card. SHOW by SkyCity cardholders get priority access to enter the casino for events like NYE.

Casino operating hours may vary, so we recommend checking on site for the current schedule. Dress codes are in place - stricter in VIP and a bit more casual outside. Unsure? Our reception staff will guide you.
Rewards, Tiers, and Points
Customers have the choice to opt-in to the SHOW by SkyCity Rewards programme upon sign up, but you do not need to join Rewards to play with a SHOW card. If a customer does not opt-in to Rewards, they still get a SHOW by SkyCity card to play. Once activated, your SHOW card earns points and rewards as you play. How fast you earn depends both on your wager amount and the games you pick. Usually, electronic games add up points more quickly than live dealer tables. The system for earning Reward Points may vary, so check with SkyCity Auckland for exact details. Existing Premier Rewards tier and points may transfer to SHOW by SkyCity Rewards upon swap.
You can swap your points for dining at our bars and restaurants, use them for hotel discounts at our on-site hotels, visit the Sky Tower, or grab theatre tickets. SkyCity operates several entertainment, hotel, and hospitality locations, including SkyCity Auckland and its associated facilities, offering diverse services to SHOW by SkyCity cardholders. Earn and redeem points for complimentary parking at SkyCity Auckland and SkyCity Hamilton as part of rewards. Rewards Points conversion rates should be confirmed with SkyCity Auckland. Rewards Points may expire if not used within a set timeframe from the time they are earned.
We have reward tiers: Blue, Gold, Platinum, Black tiers. The more you play over a rolling 12 months, the higher you can climb - each level unlocks new perks, from priority service and invites to events, to better points rates and personal hosts. Your tier is visible on your actual card.
Check balances or redeem prizes using our self-service kiosks. Scan your card, see your game history, update your info, print out receipts if you need them.
Verification and Card Activation
Our verification matches New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs rules. We confirm who you are, your age, and check for exclusion before you start playing.
ID quality matters. Photos should show every detail in focus, in good light. If online photos are blurry, you’ll just get asked to re-send. If you sign up in person, none of that is a problem - original documents only.
All ID must be: Clear, legible and a good likeness; Valid and not expired or cancelled; In English (or translated into English); Original physical documents. Additional identity verification steps may be used during the process.
Online sign ups get an email when your card’s ready. Come in with your ID for pick up. In-person registrations walk away with cards already active. Keep your SHOW card on you whenever you play - your card works at all SkyCity Casinos in New Zealand. Membership is personal and not transferable. Using someone else’s card will result in suspension.
If your card’s lost or stolen, visit the desk with ID for replacement or contact support. We’ll block your card and run through verification again before reissuing (all your rewards and points stay in your account).
